REHEARSAL - JULY 2, 2010

TIFFANY AND PATRIK LEAD THE ENTOURAGE TO THE REHEARSAL

The rehearsal was organized by Pam and Father Ed. Pam got everyone in line, and Tiffany's grandparents, Marjorie and Mercer Motley, led the procession down the hill. Father Ed waited until all of those in the wedding were in their appropriate spots. Tiffany and Patrik made their entrance with Patrik meeting Tiffany halfway down the hill.

Once everyone was in the correct spot, Father Ed gave directions on how the service would be organized - what he would say, what the bride and groom would say, yadda, yadda, yadda. I think he has done this before - many times.

After the rehearsal, there were informal gatherings of families and friends and a delicious meal prepared on the grills. It was a perfect day with all present hoping that the weather on Saturday would be just as perfect - it was.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

(JULY 10, 2010) This weekend gave to us an extended family that includes new relatives in Sweden. The above photo shows that new extended family with aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. It was a joyous time to get to know those who spoke English far better than the American family spoke Swedish. What a great group the new family members were. Jonas' younger brother with his wife and handsome and polite two sons and Kristal's sister and her husband seemed to enjoy every moment of the events.

American family members and friends came from far and near. From Chicago, Cleveland, and Charlotte to as near as Honesdale, the American wedding guests were numerous. Here are some pictures taken from those several days.

Here are some more pictures of American families and friends:

A large number of Swedish family and friends made the journey from across the ocean. Some were staying to tour New York, California, Arizona and Nevada. Some of the traditional wedding activities added to the variety of the events, and the opportunity to have new friends and families made the weekend even more special. Here is a pictures of some of the Swedish family and friends gathered at Boyds Mills, Pa. to see Tiffany and Patrik "tie the knot":

It was a wonderful weekend as two young people brought two families and two countries together for a lifelong of good fellowship.

WEDDING FUN

The entire wedding was fun for all who attended, but some events stand out among the activities of the special day. Some are in the photographs here, but others are just mental images of the fun that was had.

Everyone seemed to be ready to mug for the wedding during the several days before the wedding and the day of the wedding. There were the stiff mugging set up by the photographers and then there were the spontaneous muggings that just happened. The young Swede in the long coat, Christy being "good Christy and bad Christy," the faces being made by Patrik and Anna, and the horns placed over the head of my angelic daughter were just some of the deeds of mischief that occurred.

A swing between the site of the wedding and the farm house made a tempting destination for many in the wedding party and guests.

In addition to the bride and groom finding the joy of swinging in the summer breeze, the bride also enjoyed the swing while being pushed by her friend Matt Walker. Christy and Eduardo enjoyed the moment of Christy swinging and Eduardo pushing her high.

Some of the traditional events of the wedding were evident. I heard the day before Tiffany's grandmother telling her what traditional brides would wear on their wedding day - "Something old, something new . . ."

The cutting of the wedding cake took place right on schedule. The bride and groom were kind to each other by not smearing the cake on the other's face as is often done at some weddings.

With an international wedding, there were a number of pleasant surprises. All of the family and friends from Sweden sang a song while lighting a candle from one flame. After all of the candles were lit, the candles were placed, one by one, in a circle between the bride and groom. It was a very touching moment.

Another fun and touching moment was when Jonas, the father of Patrik, sang a song he had written for the wedding. It was called "Song for Patrik and Tiffany" and was a fun highlight of the reception. Jonas plays the guitar and sangs very well.

There were a number of toasts and tributes to the bride and groom, some in English and some in Swedish.

The few days spent at Boyds Mills were fun with family and new friends.

TIFFANY'S WEDDING PICTURES

On July 3, 2010, Tiffany and Patrik were married in Pennsylvania. Here are some pictures from that wedding. To enlarge the pictures, just click on the photo. Once the photo is enlarged, you may click on it again to make it even larger.

Father Ed Erb performed the ceremony at 3:00 in Boyds Mills, Pennsylvania.

Right after the wedding ceremony, Tiffany and Patrik celebrated the day with a kiss. Tiffany gives her "Gra'ma" Motley a big hug.

The wedding party consisted of the bride and groom and three bridesmaids and three groomsmen. The bridesmaids were Pam Emmons, Christy Hoffman, and Anna Alnefelt. The groomsmen were Mattias Johansson, Tony Tylow, and Rickard Berzelius.

Two Young People from two families living in two different countries brought together the two families and the two countries as they exchanged vows on July 3, 2010. It was a beautiful day in the mountains for a beautiful coming together of the two young people, the two families and the two countries.

Tiffany and Patrik's father, Jonas, share the joy of the day following the ceremony.

AN ADVENTURE: A quote from a key chain given to those present for the wedding of Tiffany and Patrik had the following quote:

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller

For Tiffany and Patrik life will be an adventure full of discovery and, as can be seen below, much fun.
